Signature Stars is a Deaf-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to accessibility, inclusion, effective communication, and equal access to information.
We are working to ensure that www.signaturestars.org can be used by as many people as possible, including visitors who use assistive technologies or alternative methods of accessing digital content.
Our Accessibility Goal
Signature Stars is working toward aligning this website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, commonly known as WCAG, Version 2.2, Level AA.
These guidelines provide recommendations for making digital content more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with disabilities.
Accessibility Features
We strive to include accessibility features such as:

- Readable text and sufficient color contrast
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images

- Responsive layouts for phones, tablets, and computers

Video and Audio Content
Signature Stars aims to provide captions for prerecorded and live video content when applicable and reasonably available.
When appropriate, we may also provide transcripts, American Sign Language content, visual information, or other communication formats to improve access.
Some older, archived, embedded, or third-party media may not yet meet all of our accessibility goals. We will work to improve or provide an alternative when a barrier is reported.
Documents and Downloads
We aim to make public documents available in accessible formats. However, some older documents or documents supplied by third parties may not be fully accessible.
Visitors who encounter an inaccessible document may contact us to request the information in an alternative format.
Third-Party Websites and Services
This website may link to or display content from third-party websites and services, including The Hammer Deaf Expo, social media platforms, video providers, hosting services, sponsors, partners, and community resources.
Signature Stars does not control the accessibility of every third-party platform. We encourage third-party providers to offer accessible experiences and welcome reports about barriers involving linked or embedded content.
Ongoing Improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. Signature Stars may periodically review website content, navigation, images, forms, videos, documents, color contrast, and technical code to identify and correct accessibility barriers.
